2nd Floor Is Up!!

The 2nd floor is now up.  Looks like tomorrow will be the roof.  Thursday should be roofing paper and if it isn't raining on Friday we might get shingles.  Seeing the house go up makes my heart race.  So excited to see it all go together.

We thought we might get lucky and watch them put the roof up, but we think they are just prepping for tomorrow.

They did put the trusses up for the garage, though.

Guess we won't have to worry about sun in our eyes sitting on our deck (*future*) in the afternoons.  But, the morning room will have great morning sun.

  2. Great progress !! Wow.. we are already talking 'shingles' !!! Even my heart is racing by looking at these photos as we are just one step behind you.
Because our morning room is in the east, we are going to have plenty of early morning sunlight in the morning room.

  3. It looks awesome. I can't wait until our framing starts, I think that's when it will really feel like a house.

  7. I cannot believe how fast everything happens! Your build is just ahead of ours and seeing how quick it has gone makes me think I need to start packing up the old house!!!

  8. It is so fun watching the progress. I remember holding my breath with anticipation everytime we came around the corner to see what change had occured. Everything happens so fast in the beginning.

You are going to love sitting on the deck in the evening without the sun blasting down on you. We spent so much time picking our lot and making sure the house would sit just right to get the morning sun on our Sunroom, Family room, and Morning room and still not have the front of the house blasted by the late afternoon summer sun...it has worked out perfect...congrats on the progress and keep enjoying the process!!!
