For at least 2 years now, my hubby and I have been debating on moving from our townhouse to an actual house house. Unfortunately, the market in our area crashed hard. We are way under water with our townhouse and just haven't been able to see away to get out from under and moved into a new place. We have tried several times to qualify for one of the government programs but it has been the same response - we don't qualify for anything! How is it that people who work hard, pay their bills, and are screwed by the market have no options, but someone who has defaulted or not worked as hard, gets a break? I just don't get it. Finally we have found a mortgage person who can work with us. In addition, hubby has been doing very well at work and it has paid off.
So after hubby got some great news at work, we decided to take the plunge and start looking at moving into a house. It took us over 6 months and 70+ houses before we finally picked our townhouse, so we figured this would take us a LONG while. We are both really picky and don't always like the same things. Existing houses just aren't exactly what we would want and were someone else's dream. So it was starting to look like a new build was what we need.
